Proud to be a Volunteer

For the past four days, I've been volunteering at the Ateneo Task Force Ondoy. It's my first time to volunteer hardcore and I am proud to say that I feel nothing but fulfillment. Our place was not very much affected by the storm, and I don't really know if I should be proud of it. I know of people who lost almost everything they owned (some are even friends), and I could not find enough ways to comfort them. For the past few days, I've just been feeling the urge to actually give all that I could give. And so, even if my puny body could only hold so much weight (Haha) and even if I easily get allergic rhinitis from dust, I could not be stopped. PACKING is now an addiction. Deployments were tiring but FUN, especially when you are with your friends. And so, I would also like to tell Entablado that I am very proud of everyone, especially those who were there to help for five straight days (some volunteers were also victims of the storm). For more, I am also proud to be called an Atenean, who never fails to live the meaning of being a person for others. I hope that when the operations resume, we'd still be as eager to help as now. I will miss PACKING (all caps for emphasis).

I hope everything gets well soon. Let us not stop praying for our nation. Sabi nga ni Sir Tatot kanina, ang ibig sabihin ng PEPENG ay "Please Everyone, Pray Every Night. - God" So let us not quit on Him. :)

PS: At para sa mga ibang nasalanta, hindi ito panahon upang lamangan ang ating kapwa. Sana magtulong-tulong tayo sa mga panahong ganito.
